MCPlus has learned of a cyber attack that has been growing in prevalence in the last twenty-four hours exploiting public facing remote desktop applications. When a user utilizes their remote desktop application, the attacker intercepts the connection, can see open RDP ports, encrypts all of your data locally as well as any back up data stored on your network, via ransomware. This results in you not being able to access any of your data, including email, files, software etc. This is a significant exploitation using a very common application.
